I was born and raised 25 miles south of Alexandria, Louisiana, which is located in the center of the state. My mother and father took me to a Southern Baptist Church near our home. It was there, as a nine-year-old, that I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior. After graduating from Oak Hill High School in 1976, I attended Louisiana College, a Southern Baptist college located in Pineville, Louisiana. I believed then and still believe today that the Lord graciously was calling me to be a pastor. While in college I worked as a youth pastor. In 1981 I graduated with a B.A. in Biblical studies. After graduation from college, I enrolled in New Orleans Baptist Seminary. While there, I continued to serve as a youth pastor. It was also at this time that I was introduced to a teacher named Connie from Akron, Ohio. We were married in 1982. I transferred from New Orleans Seminary to Grace Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana and completed a Master of Divinity in 1985. In 1997 I received a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Grace. For ten years I pastored a wonderful church located in Hancock County, Illinois named the Sutter-Salem Bible Church. In 1995 the Lord gave me the privilege of being called to come and begin serving as the Senior Pastor of the Gibson City Bible Church. The people have been very gracious to my family and me. We are, by God's grace, growing in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
